Adolf Ryszka was born at Popielow near Rybnik on February 5, 1935.
In 1953-1957, he studied at the College of Art Techniques in Zakopane, and in 1957-1962 in Professor Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz's studio at the Department of Sculpture of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
He joined the Polish Artists Union in 1965.
In 1970 he was admitted to the European Sculptural Symposions, and later sat on the board of the association.
In 1972 he married Jasna Strzalkowska. His daughter Anna was born in 1973.
Since 1983 he was the head of the Division of Sculpture at the Department of Fine Arts of the Copernicus University in Torun. He was appointed full professor in March 1995.
He died in April 1995.
